It was modified to contain a linker, which enhances the sensitivity of assays for this compound. The linking group was also used to make structural modifications to the compound, which decreases its cytotoxicity at high concentrations. 1-(2-Chloro-5-methyl-phenoxymethyl)-3,5-dimethyl-4-nitro-1H pyrazole has been shown to be insensitive to temperatures up to 120°C in hydrothermal stability tests.
