4,4'-Dibromo-4''-methoxytriphenylamine is a synthetic compound that can be used for the preparation of xylene. This chemical is efficient to use and is easy to prepare. It has been studied by photophysical methods and it has been found that 4,4'-dibromo-4''-methoxytriphenylamine is an efficient catalyst for the cross-coupling reaction between anilines and sulfoxides. The copper chromite must be used as a catalyst in this reaction. Nonpolar solvents such as n-dimethyl formamide are often used in the reaction. The copper chromite can also be replaced by other catalysts such as nickel or palladium catalysts.
