β-D-Glucopiranosa, 2-amino-2-desoxi-, 1,3,4,6-tetraacetato, clorhidrato (1:1) es un derivado de la glucosamina, caracterizado por la presencia de un grupo amino y múltiples grupos acetilo unidos a la estructura de glucopiranosa. Este compuesto es típicamente un sólido cristalino blanco a blanco sucio, soluble en agua debido a la presencia de la sal de clorhidrato, que mejora su solubilidad. Tetraacetylated glucosamine hydrochloride is used to produce bacterial cellulose through the action of cellulase enzymes on sucrose solutions containing NaOH.
