YD2 is a polymer film that has been shown to have functional properties. Sequences of YD2 have been identified, which are involved in the transport properties of this material. Specific primers have also been designed for YD2, which are able to detect leaf symptoms. An algorithm has also been developed for this material, which can be used to identify efflux pumps in bacteria.
