2,6-Di-terc-butil-4-metilfenol, comúnmente conocido como BHT (hidroxibutilotolueno), es un compuesto orgánico caracterizado por sus propiedades antioxidantes. Es un sólido cristalino blanco que es soluble en disolventes orgánicos pero tiene una solubilidad limitada en agua. El BHT se utiliza principalmente como conservante alimentario y en diversas aplicaciones industriales para prevenir la oxidación de grasas y aceites, extendiendo así la vida útil.
