Descripción:
Benceno, dimetilo se refiere a una clase de compuestos orgánicos derivados del benceno con dos grupos metilo adjuntos. Los isómeros más comunes del dimetilbenceno son orto-, meta- y para-xileno, cada uno difiriendo en la posición de los grupos metilo en el anillo de benceno. Estos compuestos son líquidos incoloros a temperatura ambiente, exhibiendo un olor dulce y aromático. Son relativamente no polares y tienen una solubilidad moderada en agua, pero son más solubles en disolventes orgánicos.
