4-(3-Benzyloxyphenyl)-2-ethylsulfinyl-6-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine is a drug that is used as an insulinotropic agent. It was first synthesized in the 1970s at the University of Wisconsin. The transport rate of 4-(3-benzyloxyphenyl)-2-ethylsulfinyl-6-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine into cells is regulated by membrane transporters, protomers and regulatory proteins. This drug has been shown to have insulinotropic effects in both bovine serum and plasma samples, and it interacts with the e3 ubiquitin ligase complex.

BETP is an agonist of GLP-1 receptor (EC50s: 0.66 and 0.755 μM for human and rat GLP-1 receptor).
