KFBP is a strong nucleophile and can be converted to the corresponding potassium salt by reaction with a base. It reacts with palladium under mild conditions to give the desired product. For example, it has been used in cross-coupling reactions of terminal alkynes, such as ethynes, propargylic alcohols and acetylenes.
