Descripción:
(+)-Carvona es un cetona monoterpenoide que ocurre de forma natural con la fórmula química C10H14O. Se caracteriza por su distintivo aroma a menta, que comúnmente se asocia con la menta verde y el comino. Este compuesto existe en dos formas enantioméricas, siendo (+)-Carvona la forma que se encuentra típicamente en el aceite de menta verde, mientras que su contraparte, (−)-carvona, se encuentra en las semillas de comino. La sustancia es un líquido incoloro a amarillo pálido a temperatura ambiente y es soluble en disolventes orgánicos, pero tiene una solubilidad limitada en agua.
