Curcumin b-D-glucuronide is a glucuronide conjugate of the curcumin molecule. It has been shown to have anticancer activity in mouse tumor models and human metastatic colorectal cancer cell lines by inducing apoptosis. Curcumin b-D-glucuronide is metabolized by the liver microsomes of rats, and thus may be useful for the prevention of colon cancer. Curcumin b-D-glucuronide also has anti-inflammatory properties that are due to its inhibition of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) levels in humans.
