Clorhidrato de pilocarpina es un medicamento que se utiliza principalmente para tratar condiciones como el glaucoma y la boca seca (xerostomía). Es un alcaloide sintético derivado de las hojas de la planta Pilocarpus. Como sal de clorhidrato, se presenta típicamente como un polvo cristalino blanco a blanco amarillento que es soluble en agua. La pilocarpina actúa como un agonista muscarínico, estimulando el sistema nervioso parasimpático, lo que lleva a un aumento de la salivación y la lacrimación, así como a una reducción de la presión intraocular al facilitar el drenaje del humor acuoso.
