Ácido 3-metil-2-butenoico, también conocido como ácido isovalérico, es un ácido carboxílico insaturado caracterizado por su estructura ramificada. Presenta un doble enlace entre el segundo y el tercer átomo de carbono en su cadena de carbono, lo que contribuye a su reactividad y posibles aplicaciones en la síntesis orgánica.
