Descripción:
Acarbosa es un inhibidor de la alfa-glucosidasa que se utiliza principalmente en el manejo de la diabetes mellitus tipo 2. Funciona retrasando la digestión y absorción de carbohidratos en el intestino, reduciendo así los niveles de glucosa en sangre postprandial. Acarbosa es un oligosacárido complejo derivado de la fermentación de la bacteria Actinoplanes utahensis. Su fórmula molecular es C25H43NO18 y tiene un peso molecular de aproximadamente 645.6 g/mol.
