Benzo[D]isothiazole 1,1-dioxide
CAS:Benzo[D]isothiazole 1,1-dioxide is an organic compound that has been found to have antiinflammatory activity. It is believed that this activity is due to the inhibition of synthesis of arachidonic acid and prostaglandin E2. Benzo[D]isothiazole 1,1-doxide can be synthesized by the oxidation of benzo[d]isothiazol-3(2H)-one with nitric acid in a reaction vessel containing hydrochloric acid and water. The hydrochloric acid reduces the nitro group to a carboxy group, while the ethyl group reacts with chloride ions from the hydrochloric acid to form aliphatic hydrocarbons. This reaction solution must then be heated at reflux for 24 hours before it is cooled and concentrated under vacuum. The resulting product can then be purified by recrystallization or chromatography.Fórmula:C7H5NO2SPureza:Min. 95%Peso molecular:167.19 g/mol
