Descripción:
Ácido fórmico, con el número CAS 64-18-6, es el ácido carboxílico más simple, caracterizado por su fórmula molecular HCOOH. Es un líquido incoloro y pungente que es altamente soluble en agua, alcohol y éter. Ácido fórmico tiene un punto de ebullición de aproximadamente 100 grados Celsius y un punto de fusión alrededor de 8 grados Celsius. Es conocido por sus fuertes propiedades ácidas, con un valor de pKa de aproximadamente 3.75, lo que lo convierte en un ácido débil.
