This reaction results in the formation of 3-hydroxybenzoic acid and hydroxylamine. The reaction time depends on the concentration of 2,3,5-trimethylphenol and the volume of solvent used for activation. 2,3,5-Trimethylphenol has functional groups such as heterocycles or carbonyl group. Activation energy for this reaction was found to be 30 kcal/mol.
