Descripción:
Gadolinio es un metal raro de color blanco plateado, maleable y dúctil, clasificado bajo la serie de los lantánidos en la tabla periódica. Tiene el número atómico 64 y es conocido por sus propiedades magnéticas únicas, particularmente su capacidad para volverse ferromagnético a temperatura ambiente, lo cual es relativamente raro entre los lantánidos. Gadolinio es altamente reactivo, especialmente en forma de polvo, y puede oxidarse rápidamente al estar expuesto al aire, formando una capa de óxido protectora.
