Descripción:
Trimetilamina es un gas incoloro y inflamable con un fuerte olor a pescado, comúnmente asociado con la descomposición de materia orgánica. Su fórmula molecular es C3H9N y se clasifica como una amina terciaria debido a la presencia de tres grupos metilo unidos a un átomo de nitrógeno. Trimetilamina es soluble en agua y en disolventes orgánicos, lo que lo hace versátil en diversas aplicaciones químicas. Se utiliza principalmente en la producción de compuestos de amonio cuaternario, que sirven como tensioactivos, desinfectantes y suavizantes de telas.
