Descripción:
Ácido trifluoroacético (TFA) es un líquido incoloro y pungente con la fórmula química C2HF3O2. Es un ácido orgánico fuerte, caracterizado por la presencia de tres átomos de flúor unidos a la estructura de carbono, lo que aumenta significativamente su acidez en comparación con el ácido acético. El TFA es altamente soluble en agua y muchos disolventes orgánicos, lo que lo convierte en un reactivo versátil en varias reacciones químicas. Su fuerte acidez se utiliza en la síntesis orgánica, particularmente en la preparación de derivados trifluoroacetilo y como catalizador en ciertas reacciones.
