CAS 90-44-8: Antrona

CAS:Anthrone is a reagent used for qualitative assays and for the quantitative colorimetric determination of carbohydrates. Numerous assay kits based on Anthrone are available on the market. The Anthrone assay allows the estimation of the total amount of sugars in a given sample. Initially the sample is treated with concentrated sulfuric acid to hydrolyze polysaccharides into monosaccharides and to dehydrate the monosaccharides to a furfuraldehyde derivative. The latter reacts with Anthrone forming a blue-greenish colored complex which can be analyzed by UV spectroscopy. Interestingly, Anthrone can be extracted from some plants, and it is also known for its sweet-smelling characteristics. An early report on the use of Anthrone for sugar determination can be found here: Nature, 1952, 626-627.Fórmula:C14H10OPeso molecular:194.24 g/molAnthrone

CAS:Anthrone is an organic compound that is used to treat wastewater. It can be activated by the addition of hydrogen chloride, which produces the anhydrous sodium salt and a hydroxyl group. The activated anthrone can then react with fatty acids to form an ester, which can be hydrolyzed to produce glycerol and the desired product. Anthrone has been shown to have inhibitory properties against many microorganisms, including bacteria and fungi. It also has hypoglycemic effects in mice, as well as antidiabetic effects in rats and rabbits. Anthrone is chemically stable and has no known toxicity or adverse side effects.Fórmula:C14H10OPureza:Min. 95%Peso molecular:194.23 g/molAnthrone
CAS:Anthrone is a diphenyl ether that has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects. It reduces the amount of glucose in the blood by inhibiting the activity of enzymes, such as phosphatase and glycolytic enzyme, which are involved in the metabolism of glucose. Anthrone also has inhibitory properties against anhydrous sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid. Anthrone can be used for wastewater treatment due to its chemical stability and thermal expansion properties. The chemical structures of anthrone are similar to fatty acids, which make it an ideal candidate for treating diabetes.Fórmula:C14H10OPureza:Min. 95%Forma y color:PowderPeso molecular:194.23 g/molAnthrone, 95%, pure

CAS:It finds its applications in organic synthesis. It is used for a popular cellulose assay and in the colorometric determination of carbohydrates in body fluids and of animal starch in liver tissue. The anthrones are used in pharmacy as laxative. They stimulate the motion of the colon and are responsible for less water reabsorption. They may only be used for a short amount of time, because long time use may lead to loss of electrolytes.
