CAS:2-Chlorobenzothiazole is an organic compound with the formula CHClS. It is a reactive and versatile chemical that can be used in both synthesis and as a reagent. The compound is a white solid, but samples are often yellow due to impurities. 2-Chlorobenzothiazole can be prepared by reaction of hydrochloric acid with benzotriazole, followed by reduction of the resulting salt with sodium hydroxide. This product has shown antiinflammatory activity in mice.
