This drug binds to the benzodiazepine receptor with high affinity and competes for binding sites, blocking the action of endogenous or exogenous ligands. 8BFOQC can be classified as a multidimensional molecule with pharmacophoric features that overlaps with other benzodiazepines. It has been shown to have an affinity for GABA receptors and to act as a potent antagonist of this site. The affinity of this drug for the benzodiazepine receptor is similar to that of diazepam, but it does not show any affinity for GABA receptors.
