Descripción:(S)-2-Methoxy-3-[4-[2-(5-methyl-2-phenyloxazol-4-yl)ethoxy]benzo[b]thiophen-7-yl]propionic acid is a potent inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4), which is an enzyme that breaks down the incretin hormone glucagon-like peptide 1. The drug has been shown to reduce body weight in obese patients and improve glycemic control in type 2 diabetes. It also inhibits the chemoattractant protein CXCL12, which may contribute to its role as a chemotherapeutic treatment for cancer. This drug has been shown to have no effect on heart rate or blood pressure in healthy volunteers.
