Descripción:N-[[Cis-4-(1-methylethyl)cyclohexyl]carbonyl]-D-phenylalanine (nateglinide impurity) is a postprandial blood glucose lowering agent that belongs to the class of glp-1 analogues. It has been shown to have long term efficacy and be safe for use in patients with bowel disease. Nateglinide is an ATP-sensitive K+ channel opener, which increases the amount of K+ permeability through the cell membrane and lowers the intracellular level of ATP. This leads to increased insulin release from beta cells in response to hyperglycaemia, which reduces blood glucose levels. Thermodynamic data for this compound have not been determined due to its low solubility in water. Nateglinide is an oral hypoglycemic agent that belongs to a class of glycoside derivatives.
