Descripción:(E)-1-[(1S)-1-(4-Fluorophenyl)ethyl]-3-[3-methoxy-4-(4-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)benzylidene]piperidin-2-one is a modulator of the secretase enzyme, which belongs to the family of proteases. This drug has been shown to be effective against Alzheimer's disease in animal models. The mechanism of action is not completely known, but it is thought that (E)-1-[(1S)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)ethyl]-3-[3-methoxy-4-(4-methyl imidazol-1-yl)benzylidene]piperidin-2 one inhibits the formation of amyloid beta peptides by inhibiting the production of beta amyloid protein precursor.
