Descripción:(R) -2-Methyl-CBS-oxazaborolidine is a chiral, optically pure 2-methyl-CBS oxazaborolidine. It has been used as a reagent for the stereoselective synthesis of aldehydes. The (R)-2-methyl CBS-oxazaborolidine is prepared by the reaction of the corresponding boronic acid with hydrocyanic acid in toluene. The (S)-2-methyl CBS-oxazaborolidine can be obtained from the reaction of (S)-CBS with hydrocyanic acid in toluene. A high yield of product is obtained from this reaction, and it is an efficient way to synthesize aldehydes such as maxacalcitol, which are not readily available commercially.
