The molecule was shown to have high affinity for nuclear hormone receptors, which are proteins that regulate the expression of genes. It has been suggested as an antiestrogen and may also be used as a ligand in recycling processes. 1-Methoxy-1-trimethylsilyloxypropene has also been found to be an alkylation agent, which can be used in nature or recycled in vitro assays.
