Descripción:N-Octylphosphonic acid is a fatty acid ester that belongs to the group of alkylphosphonic acids. It has been shown to be an excellent surfactant due to its high hydrophilicity and low interfacial tension. N-Octylphosphonic acid is a white, crystalline powder with a melting point of 40-45 degrees Celsius. It can be synthesized by methods such as decarboxylation of the corresponding carboxylic acid or by reacting sodium salts with fatty acids in supercritical carbon dioxide, followed by hydrolysis with hydrochloric acid. This product also shows magnetic properties due to the presence of magnetic particles.
