Descripción:N-Tetradecyl-N,N-dimethyl-3-ammonio-1-propanesulfonate (NDAP) is a cationic surfactant that has been shown to be an effective antimicrobial agent against Gram-positive bacteria. NDAP interacts with the negatively charged bacterial membrane by electrostatic interactions and steric effects. It also inhibits the function of the signal peptide, which prevents protein synthesis. NDAP has been shown to have no cytotoxicity in vitro and does not inhibit mitochondrial membrane potential or human serum albumin. This compound has been used for the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasis.
