In this test, N-Ethyl-N-(2-hydroxy-3-sulfopropyl)-3-methoxyaniline sodium salt dihydrate is used to inhibit the conversion of 17α hydroxypregnenolone into cortisol. This test has been shown to have a sensitivity and specificity of 98% and 100%, respectively.
