Description :(R)-9-[2-(Diethylphosphonomethoxy)propyl]adenine (TENOFOVIR) is an antiviral drug that belongs to the class of nucleoside analogues. It is a prodrug, which is converted by phosphorylation to its active form in vivo. TENOFOVIR has been shown to be effective against HIV-1 and hepatitis B virus, with a low incidence of adverse reactions. TENOFOVIR is administered orally and can be taken as a tablet or capsule.
