Description :(2S,3R,5R)-4-[2-(5-Fluoro-2,4-dinitrophenyl)-3-[(2R,3R,4R,5S)-1,2,4,5-tetrahydroxy-6-oxohexan-3-yl]oxypropoxy]-2,3,5,6-tetrahydroxyhexanal is a synthetic sugar transport inhibitor that inhibits the transport of d -mannose and other sugars in rat adipocytes. It was synthesized by reacting fluorodinitrobenzene with (2S)-1-(hydroxymethyl)pyrrolidine. The affinity constants for this compound are K = 0.19 ± 0.02 μM and K = 1.06 ± 0.14 μM for d -mannose and glucose respectively.
