Description :3-Piperidin-4-yl-propionic acid hydrochloride is an inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of bladder underactivity and detrusor dysfunction. It inhibits the activity of acetylcholinesterase, which prevents the breakdown of acetylcholine and leads to increased levels of this neurotransmitter. 3-Piperidin-4-yl-propionic acid hydrochloride can be administered intravesically or by oral administration. This drug is not active against other types of cholinesterase inhibitors, such as organophosphates, carbamates, or butyrylcholinesterase inhibitors.
