BACE1-IN-1 is a peptide that has been shown to inhibit the activity of BACE1, a protein that is involved in the production of amyloid beta. Amyloid beta is a peptide involved in the formation of plaques in the brain that are responsible for Alzheimer's disease. BACE1-IN-1 blocks amyloid beta production by binding to BACE1 and preventing it from cleaving amyloid precursor protein (APP) into amyloid beta.
