L'anatase è una delle tre forme minerali del biossido di titanio (TiO2), le altre essendo il rutilo e la brookite. È caratterizzata dalla sua struttura cristallina tetragonale ed è tipicamente trovata in una varietà di ambienti geologici, spesso come minerale secondario in rocce alterate.
