Descrizione:
Solfato di gentamicina è un antibiotico aminoglicosidico utilizzato principalmente per trattare varie infezioni batteriche, in particolare quelle causate da batteri Gram-negativi. È derivato dal batterio Micromonospora purpurea ed è noto per la sua attività antimicrobica ad ampio spettro. La sostanza appare come una polvere bianca o giallo pallido ed è solubile in acqua, il che facilita la sua somministrazione tramite iniezione o applicazione topica. Solfato di gentamicina agisce inibendo la sintesi proteica batterica, portando alla morte cellulare. La sua farmacocinetica prevede l'escrezione renale, richiedendo un attento monitoraggio della funzione renale durante il trattamento per evitare tossicità. Gli effetti collaterali comuni possono includere nefrotossicità e ototossicità, in particolare con uso prolungato o alte dosi.
