Disolfuro di dimetile (DMDS) è un composto organosolforato caratterizzato dal suo odore distintivo, spesso descritto come simile a quello di cavolo marcio o aglio. Ha la formula chimica C2H6S2 e presenta due gruppi metilici attaccati a un legame disolfuro. Il DMDS è un liquido incolore a temperatura ambiente ed è noto per il suo basso punto di ebollizione e alta volatilità. È solubile in solventi organici ma ha una solubilità limitata in acqua.
