Cloridrato di tiamina, noto anche come vitamina B1, è una vitamina idrosolubile essenziale per il metabolismo dei carboidrati e la funzione neurale. È caratterizzato dalla sua apparente cristallina bianca ed è igroscopico, il che significa che può assorbire umidità dall'aria. La formula chimica di Cloridrato di tiamina è C12H17ClN4OS e ha un peso molecolare di circa 299,85 g/mol. La tiamina svolge un ruolo cruciale nella decarbossilazione degli acidi alfa-cheto ed è vitale per la sintesi dei neurotrasmettitori.     Thiamine hydrochloride is a water-soluble vitamin that belongs to the group of B vitamins. It has been used as a model system for investigating the phase transition temperature of fatty acids in biological membranes. In addition, it has been shown to enhance thermal expansion and improve chronic exposure in fetal bovine brain cells. Thiamine hydrochloride has also shown insecticidal activity against various species of insects, including the tobacco budworm and the Indianmeal moth.
