CAS 80-08-0: Dapsone
Descrizione:

CAS:Dapsone is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is used to treat various types of infectious diseases and skin disorders. It acts by blocking the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid, which leads to inhibition of bacterial growth. Dapsone inhibits the activity of monoethyl ether reductase (NADH) in human polymorphonuclear leukocytes, which slows the production of hydrogen peroxide and prevents oxidative damage to cellular components. It has been shown to be effective against both erythema multiforme and chronic dermatitis herpetiformis with minimal side effects. The use of dapsone may be helpful in diagnosis as it can inhibit polymerase chain reactions that are specific for squamous cells. There are also reports that dapsone may affect intestinal motility and cause bowel disease.Formula:C12H12N2O2SPurezza:Min. 98 Area-%Colore e forma:White PowderPeso molecolare:248.3 g/mol4,4'-Diaminodiphenyl sulfone, 98%
CAS:It is active against a wide range of bacteria, but is mainly employed for its actions against Mycobacterium leprae, being used as part of multidrug regimens in the treatment of all forms of leprosy. It is a second-line medication for the treatment and prevention of Pneumocystis pneumonia and for the prevention of toxoplasmosis in those who have poor immune function. Additionally, it has been used for acne as well as other skin conditions. Moreover it is employed as an anti-inflammatory drug, anti-infective drug, a leprostatic drug and an antimalarial drug.
