CAS:Spiro[acridine-9,9'-fluorene] is a high-efficiency fluorescent molecule that can be used for devices and molecular probes. It has been shown to be a potent acceptor for catalysis and has been used in the design of molecular orbitals. The efficiency of this compound is due to the presence of an electron-donating group, phenoxaphosphine, which facilitates charge transfer to the fluorophore. Spiro[acridine-9,9'-fluorene] has also been shown to be thermally activated and fluoresces when irradiated with light.
