This compound also has anesthetic properties. The anesthetic effect of 2-(Diethylamino)ethyl 4-amino-3-butoxy-benzoate was determined using human serum. In vitro experiments have revealed that this compound is able to inhibit the binding of substance P to its receptor, the neurokinin 1 receptor, in a dose dependent manner.
