Descrizione:Cyclohexanecarbothioamide is a macrocyclic inhibitor that binds to the active site of phosphatases, which are enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of phosphoric acid esters. Cyclohexanecarbothioamide inhibits the activity of two isozymes of phosphatase, protein tyrosine phosphatase-1B (PTP-1B) and protein tyrosine phosphatase-2A (PTP-2A). It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of insulin resistance in diabetic mice. Cyclohexanecarbothioamide also inhibits fatty acid synthase, an enzyme involved in energy metabolism. This drug has been used for treatment of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis.
