Descrizione:4-Cyano-3-fluorophenylboronic acid is a boronic acid that is used in the treatment of primary aldosteronism. This drug inhibits the activity of the enzyme 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11βHSD1), which converts cortisol to cortisone. It also blocks mineralocorticoid receptors, leading to decreased levels of aldosterone and increased levels of renin. 4-Cyano-3-fluorophenylboronic acid is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes, with the formation of anhydride as one of its metabolites. The pharmacological effects of 4-cyano-3-fluorophenylboronic acid are due to its ability to inhibit 11βHSD1, inhibiting renal reabsorption of sodium and water.
