Descrizione:2,6-Dinitro-p-cresol is a fatty acid that is used as a biomarker for prostate cancer. It is synthesized by the hydroxylation of 2,6-dinitrobenzene. The compound has been shown to induce androgen receptor transcriptional regulation in prostate cancer cells. This process leads to an increase in cell proliferation and tumor growth. 2,6-Dinitro-p-cresol also induces increases in cellular fatty acids, which may contribute to prostate cancer development. This compound has been shown to be toxic at high doses, but does not cause any physiological effects at low doses.
