Descrizione:2,4-Dimethoxybenzenesulphonyl chloride (2,4-DMS) is an organic compound that contains a sulphonyl functional group. It is used as a catalyst and chemical reagent in organic synthesis. 2,4-DMS has been shown to be chemically reactive with an isotope effect in the bimolecular kinetic isotope effect experiment. The reaction mechanism of 2,4-DMS is not yet fully understood but it has been proposed that it may involve the intermediacy of piperazine. The constants for this reaction are not yet known but there are some experimental values for kinetic constants. The terminal half-life of 2,4-DMS is about 1 hour.
