Napropamide acts as an herbicide by binding to the active site of acetolactate synthase and blocking its activity. The molecular docking analysis has shown that napropamide binds with high affinity to acetolactate synthase from bacterial strains such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas putida, and Bacillus subtilis.
