Descrizione:2-(4-Formylphenoxy)acetamide (4FPA) is a chemical that has been shown to be effective against the herpes simplex virus. It is stable in dry conditions and has a pH optimum between 7.5 and 8.5. 4FPA inhibits the replication of the virus by interfering with DNA synthesis, transcription, and protein synthesis. It also has immunomodulatory effects on cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit fatty acid metabolism or reduce skin irritation caused by irritants such as sodium lauryl sulfate. 4FPA can also be used in cosmeceuticals as it absorbs UV light and can bind silver ions.
