Descrizione:3-(5-Fluoro-2,4-dinitroanilino)-2,2,5,5,-tetramethyl-1-pyrrolidinyloxy (FDNP) is a fluorescent molecule that has been used to study the orientation and dynamics of chemical species in muscle fibers. FDNP is a bimodal fluorescent probe that can be excited with laser light at 532 nm or 355 nm. The fluorescence emitted by FDNP varies depending on the orientation of the fluorophore in relation to the excitation light. Using a combination of biochemical, biophysical and computational studies, it was found that FDNP binds to actin and myosin filaments in muscle fibers.
