    Descrizione:1,2,3,4,5,6-Hexahydro-pyrrolo[3,4-c] pyrrole 2HBr is a quinolone derivative that has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It binds to the bacterial DNA gyrase enzyme and inhibits bacterial growth by interfering with the synthesis of DNA. This drug is used to treat infections caused by bacteria such as erythromycin-resistant staphylococci. The dihydrobromide form of this compound is a white crystalline solid that can be prepared in good yield from 3-(2'-chloroethyl)pyrrole by treatment with bromine vapour.
