Descrizione:4-Hydroxy-3-methoxy-5-nitrobenzoic acid is a monomer that can be used to create polymers. It is an important chemical in the production of vanillin, which is used as a flavoring agent for food and drink. Vanillin is also used in perfumes, as well as for treating leather and wood. Demethylation of 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-5-nitrobenzoic acid results in the formation of cinnamic acid, which can be converted into cinnamic alcohol or cinnamic acid derivatives.
